A fresh beginning, Another hope for mankind
Born in the lap of comfort
Far from all pain and misery
In warm embrace.
Living in the greatness of his fathers
And in the love of his mother
Devoid of misery and evil
That is just another day.
Like all the others one must learn wisdom
"Ignorance is Bliss" isn't that wisdom by itself
No but we must learn the ways of man
To become another one and to know thyself.
Love your enemies someone taught
Lend a helping hand every time
But if thou art so righteous O man
Why then is there suffering.
With wealth cometh comfort
Comfort seeketh pleasure and pleasure luxury
It hath place for any man worth nothing
But only with ones who are merely means.
Yea that is what man is my mind proclaimed
Dirty, filthy and beyond redemption
Not worthy of God nor pleasure
But for me and my clan we are the possessors of inheritance.
Then did my way go out of reason
Beaten by the merciless fury of fate
Hungry for a miracle for I deserved one
But doth not righteousness have its own reward.
I am blameless justified by just reason
But the enemy never stops
Till I am on the ground again
Men say I had it easy now.
The fighter is on his feet again
"Thou art glorious O man"
For you possess the wisdom of immortals
Thou art covered with the reason of the wise.
Thou canst never fail
For thou art a man
Armed with the wisdom of Reason
The warrior shouts the battle cry.
Face me O miserable enemy
Send the best that you can
Teardrops fall down as rain
As wisdom so fair departs.
As I look upon mine enemy
A wonderful man of ages
Who hath but nail pierce hands
I depart now that I know he's slain.
I turn to my ally to feast in the table of victory
Only to face the fury of his wrath
I do not fear you
For I possess the Glory Of Man.
You possess nothing he exclaims!
For the glory of man is my ally now
I look upon myself and now see
That I possess nothing.
Reason departs but I am not undone
I still possess the wisdom of the ancients
With beasts at my heels
I run with shame and pride.
Reason strikes me with the dart of vengeance
My clan look away in shame
The beasts have now bruised my heel
And wait to feast upon my flesh.
I am not set to be meat
For my ally and for the glory of man
My foolishness was my doubt he said
And the weakness of my heart.
I look for one last time and I behold
" On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross"
My spirit cried to wisdom "Lay my weary head to rest"
For I had no more tears to cry.
The wisdom that was dead outside me
Hath now come to dwell within me
I see multitudes marching to aid me
For my enemy is now my ally.
I bid my final farewell to the Glory Of Man
To the father of the foolish
For it is not I that liveth
But CHRIST who liveth in me.
AMEN
